LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University wrestling team (3-9, 1-4 EWL) won eight of 10 bouts and the Bald Eagles got bonus points at 184 and 197 to drop visiting Cleveland State (1-8, 0-3 EWL) 32-6 in Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) action today.

Prior to the start of the match, Lock Haven also took time to honor its three seniors – Maldarelli, Randt and Kemerer, who all won today.

Today's match started at 149 pounds and the Bald Eagles rolled from the opening whistle, jumping out to a 9-0 lead after the first three bouts.

Maldarelli grinded out a hard-fought 9-8 win at 149. Down, 8-6, Maldarelli got a takedown with under a minute to go in the bout tying the match at 8-8. His 1:25 of riding time was the difference in the win over Nick Montgomery, setting the tone for the day.

Randt beat RJ LaBeef 10-4 at 157 and Kemerer beat Matt Donohoe 11-6 at 165 for the early LHU lead.

Following a CSU win at 174, Garcia went to work on Robert Blankenship. Garcia's takedown clinic led to a 23-7 tech fall at the 4:51 mark of the match.

The bonus points continued at 197 as Sprenkle pinned Corbin Boone with 28 second left in the first period.

Garcia and Sprenkle's bonus points put LHU up 20-3.

Riley Shaw won for the Vikings at 285, before LeMaire, Wheeler and Neff closed things with three straight Haven wins.

Todays' win snapped a nine-match losing streak and marked Lock Haven's first EWL win of the season.

The Bald Eagles return to action next Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Edinboro Open.
