Lady Eagles fall on the road to Millersville, 75-62

Lane continues to lead LHU with team-high 16 points; Moyer adds 13 pts

Box Score MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (6-19, 4-11 PSAC East) fell on the road to Millersville (14-11, 9-6 PSAC East) today in conference matchup, 75-62.
 
Sami Lane (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock) led the Lady Eagles once again with team-high 16 points.
 
The Lady Eagles began the first period trailing Millersville, 9-0 when Lane jumpstarted the Haven with a layup to get on the board 9-2.
 
LHU battled from behind with a late period run to end the first period trailing MU, 36-32. 
 
The Lady Eagles gained momentum early in the second period when Marrysa Moyer (Altoona, Pa./Mansfield Univ.) sparked the Haven offense with two free throws in the first minute of action.
 
Millersville lengthened its lead to, 60-46 when the Lady Eagles called  timeout with less than nine minutes to play.
 
MU proved to be too tough down the stretch as the Lady Eagles fell, 75-62.
 
Marrysa Moyer continued to prove she is one of the best in the PSAC with an all-around performance, netting 13 points and grabbing four rebounds.  Moyer recorded three steals and dished out two assists.
 
Junior-guard Emily Daugherty (Laughlintown, Pa./Ligonier Valley) recorded 11 points and senior Shaleta Heyward (Upper Darby, Pa./Mansfield Univ.) added 10 points and two steals.
 
Kelsey Ryan (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) netted eight points and J.J. Hilliard (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem) grabbed four boards.
 
Celeste Robinson led the Marauders with 21 points and Yasmin Cooper grabbed 11 rebounds. 
 
The Lady Eagles scored 38 points in the paint and shot 66.7% from the free throw line.
 
Lock Haven closes out the season on Wednesday (Feb. 26) when the Lady Eagles host Cheyney (6 p.m.).

Today's loss eliminated LHU from playoff contention ... Last Wednesday, LHU completed the season sweep of Kutztown with a win on the road … The win against Kutztown and previously to Mansfield snapped a six-game losing streak … Junior Marrysa Moyer leads LHU with 14.9 points per game and 8.7 rebounds … Senior Kelsey Ryan leads LHU with a free throw percentage of 78.1 on the year … Four lady Eagles netted double figures in today's game … Moyer shot 100% from the free throw line in today's game … LHU concludes the regular season on Wednesday (Feb. 26) when the Lady Eagles host Cheyney in PSAC conference matchup.
