Box Score 2 KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University softball team dropped both games of a PSAC East doubleheader today at Kutztown University.
Today's action marked the first action for the Lady Eagles (6-15, 1-5 PSAC East) in over a week because of weather and field conditions.
Kutztown (10-13, 4-2 PSAC East) won 9-2 and 8-0 (5 innings).
In game one, the Lady Eagles went up 2-0 in the top of the fourth when
Chelsea Edwards (Horsham, Pa/Hatboro-Horsham) drilled her first home run of the year. Her two-run line drive over the left-center field fence gave LHU the lead.
Host Kutztown responded quickly in the bottom of the fourth with all nine of its runs.
LHU recorded six hits in game one, with all six coming from different players.
Kutztown scored four runs in the bottom of the first and added four more in the bottom of the fifth to drop LHU 8-0 in game two today.
Jodi Weaknecht (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown) tripled down the right-field line in the top of the third as she was one of four players to record a hit in the game-two loss.
The Lady Eagles return to action on Wednesday, April 2 at 2:30 p.m. when they'll play their home-opener vs. East Stroudsburg University.
