Box Score 2 LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University softball team rallied for a game-two win, helping the Lady Eagles earn an all-important PSAC East split at rival Bloomsburg University today.
Bloomsburg (16-11, 8-6 PSAC East ) edged Lock Haven 4-3 in game one, but the Lady Eagles (15-22, 10-12 PSAC East) rallied in game two for the solid 5-2 victory.
Game 1 Recap: With the game tied 3-3 after five, the Huskies scored the go-ahead and eventual game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth to snap Lock Haven's seven-game winning streak.
Haven pitchers
Rachel Mouillesseaux (Endicott, N.Y./Union Endicott) and
Jessie Probst (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) combined for four strikeouts in the loss.
Trailing 2-0 after four, LHU plated three runs in the fifth.
The Haven's four game-one hits came from four different players, including
McKenna Garlock (Three Springs, Pa./Southern Huntingdon), who drove in a run.
Game 2 Recap: The Lady Eagles scored five runs on 10 hits and used a three-run top of the fourth to soar past Bloomsburg in game two.
Trailing 2-1 in the third, Probst helped her own cause and doubled to right field, driving in two runs to put Lock Haven up for good.
The Lady Eagles added two runs in the sixth.
Probst allowed just three hits and struck out a trio after going 4 1/3 innings on the way to the win. Mouillesseaux picked up the save after a solid 2 2/3 innings of work.
Probst finished with a pair of hits at the plate.
Michelle Holweger (Landsdale, Pa./North Penn) was 2-for-4 and
Taylor Magee (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch) was 2-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI.
Lock Haven returns home to host Kutztown University tomorrow (Saturday, April 19) on Senior Day.
