Hepburn flirts with triple-double, Blount catches fire from downtown, as Bald Eagles down Bloom, 94-82

Hepburn just misses triple-double, Blount hits five threes in win

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Wali Hepburn (Philadelphia/Neumann-Goretti) narrowly missed a triple-double and Al Blount (Northampton, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) made five threes, as the Lock Haven University men's basketball team beat Bloomsburg today, 94-82 in front of a rocking crowd at PSECU Court at Thomas Fieldhouse.
 
Lock Haven (6-12, 6-8 PSAC) jumped out to a, 41-40 halftime lead thanks to a big first half from Hepburn and Blount.  Hepburn scored 16 points and Blount added 11 in the opening period.
 
The Haven continued to click offensively throughout the second half, where they extended their lead over Bloomsburg (8-10, 4-10 PSAC) thanks to a 51.5% field goal percentage effort in the final 20 minutes.
 
Hepburn had a huge night and nearly became the first Bald Eagle ever with a triple-double.  He finished with 31 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, four steals and two blocks.
 
Blount was the fire-starter for LHU on the night, as he ignited the Bald Eagle faithful with three-pointers on five different occasions.  He finished with a career-high 21 points and was 5-for-7 from three-point-land.
 
Dave Garcia (Scotrun, Pa./Pocono Mt. East) was crucial down the stretch off the bench for The Haven.  He scored nine of his 12 points in the second half.
 
Nate Walters (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley) and Theo West (Philadelphia/Kensington) played well down low.  Walters scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds, while West scored five points and pulled down 11 rebounds.
 
The Bald Eagles shot 10-of-19 (52.6%) from three on the day and were 46.5% from the field.
 
Alssenne Saintilus scored 24 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead the Huskies.
 
Lock Haven men's basketball hosted its alumni event during today's game, honoring those Bald Eagles who returned at halftime.  LHU also gave a special commemorative ball to Shon "Biz" Crosby (1990-94), who is third on The Haven's all-time scoring list with 1,684 points.
 
Lock Haven returns to action on Wednesday (January 28) when the Bald Eagles travel to East Stroudsburg for a PSAC East matchup.  Tipoff is set for 8 p.m.
