LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (6-12, 5-9 PSAC) pushed No. 22 Bloomsburg University (15-2, 13-1 PSAC) to the limits today, but in the end, fell 59-53 on the PSECU Court at Thomas Fieldhouse.

Sami Lane (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock) powered the Haven offense with an all-around effort, netting a season-high 21 points. Lane added three steals and grabbed six boards in 33 minutes of action, shooting 5-for-6 from the free throw line.

After a slow start, the Lady Eagles kicked it into gear to trail, 30-22 at the break.

Rachael McDaniel (Plainfield, N.J./California (Pa.) Univ.) sparked LHU with a three-pointer at the start of the second half to shorten the BU lead to just seven points.

From that point on both teams battled for the lead but the Huskies proved to be too much down the stretch. BU sealed an, 59-53 win.

Senior
Marrysa Moyer (Altoona, Pa./Mansfield Univ.) led the Lady Eagles defensively with 10 rebounds and added six points.

J.J. Hilliard (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) added eight points and dished out a game-high 4 assists.Â

Sophomore Loren Kasier (Bethlehem, Pa./Pace Univ.) and Kirst Bair (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) netted six and seven points, respectively.

Lock Haven netted 32 points in the paint and shot 82.4% from the free throw line.Â

The Lady Eagles held BU to 59 points, marking just the third time this season the Huskies recorded less than 60 points in a game.Â

Taylor Maldonado led Bloomsburg with 19 points in 37 minutes of action.
