Haven Hoops Weekly Preview: Women’s Basketball hits the road

Lady Eagles start three-game road trip, travel to Edinboro Wednesday and Kutztown on Saturday

The Lock Haven University women's basketball team is gearing up for a three-game road trip.
 
The Lady Eagle get things started tomorrow (Wednesday, January 7) at Edinboro (5:30 p.m.) before traveling to Kutztown on Saturday (Jan. 10, 1 p.m.).
 
Lock Haven is 4-8 overall (3-5 PSAC) and has won three of its last four games.
 
Edinboro is 10-3 overall and 7-2 in PSAC play, while Kutztown is 5-7 overall and 4-5 in PSAC action. Kutztown plays at Gannon tomorrow.
 
Last week, Edinboro beat Kutztown, 81-61.

LHU and Kutztown last met on February 19, 2014 and The Haven won, 70-63, thanks to 15 points from Sami Lane.
 
Last time out:
On Sunday (Jan. 4), Lock Haven beat Slippery Rock 68-59, thanks to another sensational individual effort by Marrysa Moyer, who scored a game-high 17 points and matched a career-high in rebounds.

Standout senior Marrysa Moyer currently sits on 968 points, just 32 away from 1,000.
 
839 of her 968 points have come at Lock Haven after transferring from Mansfield.

The Lady Eagles have won three of their last four games, including a pair of PSAC wins, pushing them into a tie for sixth in the PSAC East standings.
 
Leading the way for LHU is Sami Lane, who is averaging 11.3 points per game. Marrysa Moyer is second on the team in scoring with 10.8 points per game. Moyer also grabs 10.7 rebounds per game, the second-best mark in the league (32nd in Division II).
 
The road ahead:
Following Saturday's (Jan. 10) game at Kutztown, Lock Haven will plays its third of three straight road games on Wednesday, January 14 at Millersville. Lock Haven returns home for a Saturday, January 17 clash with Cheyney.
