LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Three different players scored their first career goal and the Lock Haven University women's soccer team (3-9-1, 3-8-1 PSAC) shutout visiting Mansfield University (3-8-1, 2-8-1 PSAC), 3-0.
The Bald Eagles offense was sparked by three freshmen, all of whom scored their first career goals for The Haven.
Haley Predix (Lewistown, Pa./Mifflin County),
Kara Waskewicz (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) and
Gabby Kishbaugh (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) netted goals for Lock Haven.
Predix put LHU up 1-0 in the 23
rd minute and Waskewicz struck just before minutes before halftime.
LHU dominated Mansfield in the opening 45 minutes and it showed with the 2-0 lead at the break.
Kishbaugh rounded out the scoring in the 88
th minute.
Katie Gable (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest), who made just her second start, finished with four saves. The Bald Eagles got a strong defensive effort from a number of players including
Alexa Ream (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore) and
Danielle Mauro (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North).
Lock Haven returns to action on Wednesday, October 21 at noon when the Bald Eagles travel to West Chester.
