Women’s Hoops set for PSAC First Round matchup against Kutztown Saturday

Lady Eagles to play in first PSAC Tournament appearance in 24 years

The Lock Haven University women's basketball team is set for the 2015 PSAC Basketball Playoffs, which begin this Saturday (February 28) when the Lock Haven travels to Kutztown (1 p.m.). 
 
Lock Haven finished the regular season 11-15 overall and 10-12 in conference action, qualifying for the PSAC Tournament as the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Division.
 
Kutztown qualified as the No. 4 seed in the East after capping the 2014-15 season 11-15 overall and 10-12 in conference.
 
Saturday's game will mark the third time this season the Lady Eagles have competed with the Golden Bears.

This year against Kutztown:
LHU went 1-1 against KU this season, as the Lady Eagles dropped the first game, before picking up a win at home in Thomas Fieldhouse on the PSECU Court.
 
66-56 in January, before edging the Golden Bears at Thomas Fieldhouse, 59-58 on Wednesday, Feb. 11.
 
Kutztown won the first meeting in their home arena, 66-56 on Saturday, January 10.

Lady Eagles in the playoffs:
This year marks the first time that Lock Haven has earned a playoff spot since the 1990-1991 season. 
 
LHU defeated Pitt-Johnstown in the First Round of the PSAC Tournament, 76-72.  Following the PSAC win, the Lady Eagles fell to Clarion in the Regional Finals, 77-70.
 
On Saturday, Lock Haven will look to earn its first playoff win in 24 years and advance to the Quarterfinals.
 
A look ahead:
The winner of Saturday's game will face No. 1 East seed Bloomsburg in the PSAC Quarterfinals.  The quarterfinal game will be at Bloom on Tuesday, March 3 at 7 p.m.
