#2 Lady Eagles hold on for 9-5 win over #19 Bloomsburg

LHU moves to 6-0 overall, 4-0 in PSAC action

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Redshirt-senior Jessica Pandolf (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) scored four times as the No. 2 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (6-0, 4-0 PSAC) downed No. 19 Bloomsburg University (5-3, 4-1 PSAC), 9-5 on the road today in conference action.  
 
Today's victory was a defensive struggle as No. 19 Bloomsburg University was held to its lowest offensive output all season with just five goals.
 
The Huskies were quick off the draw, as Brigid Kyne recorded the first goal of the game at the 25:14 mark.
 
Rachel Ward (Indianapolis/Bishop Chatard) awoke the Haven offense, netting a slow break goal from Taylor Klunk (Forest Hill, Md./Bel Air) to put Lock Haven on the board, 1-1 in the following minute.
 
After 10 scoreless minutes, Kelly Hamilton (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) drove to the net to give the Lady Eagles its first lead of the day, 2-1 with 14:40 left in the first half.
 
This week's PSAC Player of the Week, Jessica Pandolf (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) and Shannon Bissnette (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) gave LHU a three-goal cushion heading into the second half after netting back-to-back goals.
 
The Lady Eagles led 4-2 at the break.  
 
Bloomsburg was able to score first in the second half, but Pandolf and Jill Murray (Unionville, Pa./Unionville) swung the momentum in Lock Haven's direction with two quick goals.
 
The Haven led, 7-2 with 26 minutes left in the game.
 
BU battled back but the Lady Eagles proved to be too much down stretch, sealing an, 9-5 Lock Haven victory.
 
Pandolf finished the day with four goals and seven draw controls.
 
Klunk directed the Haven attack with four assists and Bissnette added one goal and one assist.
 
The Lock Haven defensive unit was remarkable, allowing just five goals.
 
Chrissy Baffuto (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) was solid between the pipes recording seven saves in the win.
 
Julie Falk led Bloomsburg with a pair of goals.

Lock Haven moves to 24-19 all-time against The Huskies and LHU held an 12-4 lead in draw controls.  

The Lady Eagles return to action on Saturday, April 4 when LHU hosts No. 16 West Chester in PSAC action (1 p.m.).
