SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – After an 18-day layoff, the Lock Haven University softball team returned to the diamond and picked up a huge Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East sweep at Shippensburg, thanks to a sensational effort by
Rachel Mouillesseaux (Endicott, N.Y./Union Endicott).

Lock Haven (6-10, 2-0 PSAC East) won a pair of thrillers, dropping Shippensburg (8-9, 3-7 PSAC East) 3-2 in game one (eight innings) and The Haven rallied late in game two for the 7-5 victory.

Mouillesseaux picked up the win in both games and her home run in the top of the eight in game one, proved to the difference in the outcome. She threw a gem in game one, as she struck out six in the two-hitter.

Game 1 Recap: W, 3-2 (8 innings) Â
Despite Mouillesseaux's dominance in the circle in game one, LHU needed to rally late. Trailing 2-1 with two outs in the top of the seventh,
Sarah Schwalm (Dauphin, Pa./Central Dauphin) doubled to right field, and drove in a run to tie the game.

Mouillesseaux helped her caused with a solo homer in the eighth despite falling behind in the count, 0-2. The home run proved to the difference.

Jessie Probst (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) turned in a three-hit outing and both
Jodi Weaknecht (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown), and
Paige Stuppy (Jonestown, Pa./Northern Lebanon) racked up a pair of hits.

Mouillesseaux allowed just the two hits and surrendered three walks. She held Shippensburg hitless through five innings.

Game 2 Recap: W, 7-5Â
Lock Haven took a 4-3 lead in the top of the fifth winning, but Shippensburg was quick to respond with a two-run inning in the bottom half, and the Red Raiders led 5-4 after five full innings.

The Bald Eagles tied the game at 5-5 and in the sixth and added a pair of runs in the seventh on the way to the 7-5 victory. LHU scored its seven runs off 14 hits.

Michelle Holweger (Landsdale, Pa./North Penn) led the LHU offense in game two. She was 4-for-4 at the palate with two RBIs and two runs scored.

In all, four different Haven players had multiple-hit games, including Schwalm and Mouillesseaux, who each drove in a run as well.
Nicole Smith (Milton, Pa./Milton) added a pair of hits and a RBI.

Mouillesseaux worked the finale 2 and 2/3 innings on the way to the win.

Earlier today -- tomorrow's (Friday, April 2) doubleheader at West Chester was postponed because of inclement weather.

LHU is scheduled to play at Millersville on Saturday (April 4) at 1 p.m.
