The LHU field hockey team is headed on the road for two more game this weekend.
Lock Haven kicks off the weekend at Colgate on Saturday, September 12 (1 p.m.) and travels to Siena on Sunday, September 13 (12 p.m.).
The Haven is off to a 4-0 start to the season, which marks the best start since 2004. Lock Haven is coming off wins at Cornell and at Towson. On Friday, LHU beat Cornell 1-0 in OT for Lock Haven's second shutout of the season. In four games, LHU's defense has allowed just two goals and Lock Haven is outscoring opponents 11-2 through four games.
LHU is 11-2 all-time vs. Colgate and won last year's meeting, 6-2.
Lock Haven is a perfect 8-0 all-time vs. Siena and won last season, 4-2.
Three things you need to know: 1. On Tuesday, senior
Rachel Valentine was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week. It marks the second straight week where a Lock Haven player has been named the conference's player of the week. Valentine was the difference on Friday at Cornell, scoring the game's only goal in OT.
2. Lock Haven has two shutouts in four games, which ranks third in all of Division I.
3. On the season, six different players have scored a goal for LHU.
Up next: Following Sunday's game at Siena, Lock Haven will return home on Friday, September 18 to open A-10 play vs. Richmond at 3 p.m. On Saturday, September 19 (2 p.m.), LHU hosts Georgetown in non-conference action.
