Box Score 2 ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Lock Haven University volleyball team (1-3) dropped a pair of matches today on the second day of competition at the Grand Valley State University Laker Classic Tournament.
LHU opened the season yesterday and went 1-1.
Today (Saturday, September 5), Lock Haven fell to Carson-Newman, 3-1 (25-22, 23-25, 25-13 & 25-21), before falling to No. 7 Grand Valley, 3-0 (25-13, 25-16 & 25-22).
Lock Haven – Carson-Newman: L, 3-1 | Box Score Sarah Gomish (Ebensburg, Pa./Bishop Carroll) had another big game and turned in a double-double with 19 kills and 11 digs.
Megan Flick (Howard, Pa./Bald Eagle) and
Brittany Moyer (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) added 14 and 12 kills, respectively. Both players had 18 digs apiece.
Jessica Brown (Fawn Grove, Pa./Kennard-Dale) recorded a season-high 46 assists and she added 23 digs.
Sydney Belcastro (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) had 31 digs.
As a team, LHU recorded three aces and eight blocks.
Lock Haven – #7 Grand Valley: L, 3-0 | Box Score Flick and
Gabrielle Stick (Reading, Pa./Exeter Township) led LHU with five kills apiece.
Brown added 20 assists and Belcastro had 18 digs.
