CHEYNEY, Pa. – Lysa Mealing (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) recorded another monster double-double (15 points, 15 rebounds) and was one of four Bald Eagles who scored in double-figures, leading the Lock Haven University women's basketball team to an important 67-51 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East road win at Cheyney University.
Mealing's game-high 15 points paced Lock Haven (7-8, 4-7 PSAC East) offensively.
The Haven trio of
Emily James (Mansfield, Pa./Mansfield),
J.J. Hilliard (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) and
Rachael McDaniel (Plainfield, N.J./California (Pa.) Univ.) all netted double-figures to go along with the Mealing-led attack.
James scored 12, while Hilliard had 11 and McDaniel added 10.
Mackenzie Livingston (Blairsville, Pa./IUP) chipped in with nine points and four rebounds.
Lock Haven led by four at the break, 24-20 and the Bald Eagles shot 52 percent in the second half, dropping Cheyney (2-12, 0-10 PSAC East) in an important PSAC tilt.
Hilliard added four assists and two steals. Mealing, the PSAC's leading rebounder grabbed a game-high 15 boards today (3 off, 12 def).
LHU will return home to host Shippensburg University on Wednesday, January 13 at 5:30 p.m.
