The LHU field hockey team is set for its final homestand of the 2016 regular season as the Bald Eagles welcome Colgate and Saint Joseph’s to town this weekend.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team is set for its final homestand of the 2016 season this weekend as the Bald Eagles host Colgate and Saint Joseph's as part of LHU's 2016 Homecoming Weekend festivities.

Setting the stage:
On Friday, October 14 at 3 p.m., LHU will host Colgate in non-conference action.

On Sunday, October 16 at 12 p.m., LHU will return to Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) play with an important match with first-place Saint Joseph's. Sunday also marks Senior Day for the Bald Eagles as it marks Lock Haven's final home game of the 2016 regular season.

Haven seniors:
Lydia George
Megan Wenrich
Colleen McCabe
Tabatha Almond
Stephanie Whiteman
Paige Stuppy
Kiersten Cepeda (student assistant coach)

Back to their winning ways:
The Bald Eagles are entering the weekend on a three-game win streak. Last week, LHU was 2-0 thanks to a non-conference shutout at Appalachian State and a 3-2 comeback-win over Davidson. Lock Haven is 8-4 overall and 4-2 in A-10 play.

All-time vs. Colgate & Saint Joseph's:
Friday marks the 15th meeting between LHU and Colgate with Lock Haven controlling the series, 12-2. Last season, the Bald Eagles beat Colgate 3-1.

Sunday will serve as the 10th all-time meeting with Lock Haven and Saint Joseph's. LHU is 8-1 all-time vs. Saint Joseph's with the Hawks' only win coming last season (3-2, 2OT).

Smith named A-10 Player of the Week (Monday, October 10):
On Monday (Oct. 10), Alyscia Smith was named the Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) Player of the Week.

Smith shared this week's honors with Shannon Pereira of Saint Francis as the two were named Co-Conference Players of the Week.

LHU went 2-0 last week thanks in large part to the play of Smith, who had two goals and one assist (5 pts.). Smith scored the game-winner in Friday's (Oct. 7) win over Appalachian State. In Sunday's (Oct. 9) important 3-2 A-10 win at Davidson, Smith had a goal and an assist and her three-point game was certainly key in Lock Haven's comeback win. Lock Haven trailed 2-1 at halftime, but Smith tied the game in the 39th minute. She set up the game-winner in the 52nd minute.
