LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team is ready to open the 2016-17 season, as the Bald Eagles will compete in the PSAC/MEC challenge hosted by Fairmont State in West Virginia. LHU will face Concord on Friday, and Fairmont State on Saturday.
The Haven faced Division I Toledo in an exhibition game last weekend (Saturday, November 5) where they posted a strong showing.
Mackenzie Livingston and
Madison McHale lead the offense by scoring 10 and 9 points respectively.
Lysa Mealing hauled in 5 rebounds while dishing out 3 assists.
Key returners
- Mealing looks to pick up where she left off last season, where she led the nation in rebounds per game with 13.7.
- Livingston is the top returning scorer from last year where she averaged 10.5 points per game.

Jalyn Shelton-Burleigh looks to build on a strong finish to her freshman season where she was named the PSAC East Freshman of the Week multiple times.
Notes:
- LHU will benefit from veteran leadership where seven returning players played in at least 25 games last year.
- Last season, Lock Haven qualified for the PSAC Tournament for the second straight year. In 2014-15 LHU made it to the PSAC Tournament for the first time in 24 years (1990-91 season).
First time match ups:
This will mark the first time Lock Haven will take the court against both Concord and Fairmont State.
