ERIE, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (5-2, 1-2 PSAC) got strong individual efforts from
Ra'eese Hunt (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) and
Amir Hinton (Philadephia/Abington), and the Bald Eagles pushed hard in the second half, but Gannon University (3-2, 2-1 PSAC) held on for an 81-70 conference win.
Hunt matched his career-high with 22 points. He was 7 of 13 from the field, hit one 3-pointer and knocked down 7 of 7 from the free-throw line. Hunt also added six rebounds.
Hinton netted 20 points. He nailed a trio of 3's.
Jihad Barnes (Philadelphia/Philadelphia Electric Charter) added 13 points and eight rebounds, while
Cole Renninger (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) added nine points.
The Bald Eagles got 24 points from the bench today as that continues to be a huge key for Lock Haven.
LHU trailed 35-26 at halftime, but stepped it up the second half. Lock Haven shot 46 percent in the second, which helped the Bald Eagles make a run.
LHU is right back in action tomorrow (Sunday, December 4) at Clarion University (3 p.m.).
