LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (7-11, 4-10 PSAC) fell at home to Bloomsburg University (5-13, 4-10 PSAC) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action, 62-54.
After a sluggish first quarter LHU bounced back and used a strong fourth quarter to bring the game within striking distance. The Bald Eagles outscored the Huskies 23-17 in the fourth.
Leading the way for The Haven was
Madison McHale (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock) who finished the game with 17 points.
Lysa Mealing (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) and
Annie Dombrowski (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) dominated the boards securing 10 and eight, respectively.
Mealing also netted 10 points and dished out three assists. That is her third consecutive double-double and ninth of the season.
Also chipping in for LHU was
Emily James (Mansfield, Pa./Mansfield H.S.) who finished with eight points and
Ayanda McGill-Jefferson (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) who had six rebounds.
LHU will hit the court again on Saturday, January 28 (2 p.m) for another PSAC East clash as Lock Haven host East Stroudsburg University.
