Setting the stage:
The LHU field hockey is set to host longtime local-rival Bucknell on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 12 p.m. Sunday's game marks the Bald Eagles 2017 Senior Day.
Last week, Lock Haven went 1-1 and The Haven is coming off a 3-1 win over Lehigh in non-conference action.
Sunday marks the 48
th all-time meeting between Lock Haven and Bucknell. Last season, the Bison won 1-0 (2OT), but Lock Haven leads the all-time series, 36-8-3 in a rivalry that dates back to 1954.
Bucknell is 6-8 overall and hosts Holy Cross on Saturday.
Senior Day:
Sunday's (Oct. 22) game vs. Bucknell marks Lock Haven's final home game of the 2017 season and the Bald Eagles will honor their two seniors in
Michele Enck and
Paige Stuppy. Both have played extremely important roles in the LHU field hockey program over their careers.
Up next:
Following Sunday's home game with Bucknell, the Bald Eagles have just two regular season games remaining, both on the road. On Friday, Oct. 27, LHU will travel to former Northeast Conference (NEC) rival Rider for a 4:30 p.m. non-conference contest. On Sunday, Oct. 29 (2 p.m.), the Bald Eagles will cap A-10 conference play at Saint Francis in a hugely important contest.
