MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's soccer team (5-10-0, 4-10-0 PSAC) soared on its way to a shutout against Mansfield University (1-12-0, 0-12-0 PSAC) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action, 2-0.
The Bald Eagles jumped out to an early lead when
Erika Landis (Watsontown, Pa./Warrior Run) sent in a cross that
Gabby Kishbaugh (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) headed in from 10 yards out in the 23
rd minute to take the 1-0 lead.
Mansfield's only shot came early in the match and
Bree Hilty (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) came up big as she thwarted it away to keep it a 1-0 game going into the second half.
Haleigh Swam (Westminster, MD./Winters Mill) gave LHU the insurance goal in the 68
th minute after beating the keeper off the left side and firing it from 10 yards out to put The Haven up 2-0.
The Bald Eagles will return to the pitch on Monday October, 9 when they head to Salem International in a non-conference matchup.
