Field Hockey headed to Saint Louis for A-10 contest

Week 7 Notes: The LHU field hockey team is headed to Saint Louis for an A-10 match with the Billikens.

Haven hits:
  • LHU is 7-5 overall and 2-3 in A-10 action.
  • LHU is 3-2 at home and 4-3 on the road.
  • Last week, Lock Haven went 1-1. The Bald Eagles downed Davidson 2-1 in A-10 play, before falling at 2-1 at Cornell.
  • On the season, LHU is 3-1 in OT games.
  • Alyscia Smith leads LHU with seven goals (No. 4 in A-10) and 17 points (No. 5 in A-10).
  • Goalkeeper Paige Stuppy has played every minute in the cage for The Haven. She ranks No. 4 in the A-10 in GAA (1.42) and No. 5 in save percentage (.753).
 
Setting the stage:
The LHU field hockey team is headed to "Gateway of the West" to take on Saint Louis in Saint Louis in an important Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) game. Friday's game at SLU's Sportport is slated for 7 p.m. EST.
 
Friday's game marks Lock Haven's only contest of the weekend as the Bald Eagles will embark on the 777 mile journey for the conference matchup.
 
Last season, Lock Haven beat the Billikens, 7-0 and LHU is 6-1 all-time vs. Saint Louis.
 
SLU is 4-7 overall on the season, and winless at 0-4 in A-10 action.
 
Rudy headed to the Hall of Fame:
On Wednesday, September 20, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced its 2017 Hall of Fame Class and LHU head coach Pat Rudy was part of the class. Former Bryn Mawr head coach Jenepher Shillingford and former Walpole (Mass.) head coach Penny Calf join Rudy as 2017 honorees. Rudy entered the 2017 season with 583 career wins.
 
Up next:
Following LHU's game at Saint Louis on Friday, the Bald Eagles will return home to host Richmond on Friday, Oct. 13 at 3 p.m. in an important A-10 contest. The next day – Saturday, Oct. 14 – Lock Haven will host Lehigh in non-conference action.
