INDIANA, Pa. – The Lock Haven women's basketball team (1-3, 0-1 PSAC) dropped a hard fought road game to #20 Indiana University of Pennsylvania (3-0, 1-0 PSAC) 78-53 in the first game of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action for both teams.
 
The Bald Eagles and the Crimson Hawks battled back and forth all throughout the first half as the Bald Eagles trailed by only three, 37-34, in the first half.  The Haven defense was outstanding, holding Indiana to 35 percent shooting and consistently forcing IUP into contested looks.
 
The battle continued into the third quarter as Lock Haven and the Crimson Hawks exchanged tough basket for tough basket.  IUP was left clinging to a 54-49 lead going into the fourth quarter. 
 
In the fourth, the Bald Eagles struggled to put the ball in the basket and IUP was able to pull away and seal the victory.  Despite the 25-point margin of victory for the Crimson Hawks, the final score was not indicative of the battle between the two PSAC foes.
 
The Lock Haven offense was led by Kayla Henderson (Philadelphia/Lackawanna College) and Madison McHale (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock). Henderson led the team with 12 points and four rebounds while McHale added 11 points.
 
Maimuna Kenneh (Coatesville, Pa./Collegium Charter) played a solid all-around game for the Bald Eagles as she totaled eight points and a team-high eight rebounds.  Bink Redman (York, Pa./William Penn) also played well as the freshman led The Haven with five assists.

The Bald Eagles get right back to work as the travel to Seton Hill tomorrow (November 19) to take on the Griffins.  The game is set for a 1:00 tip.
