Men's Basketball Preview

The Lock Haven University men's basketball team will return to action this Saturday, December 2 when the Bald Eagles face Slippery Rock at 3 p.m. at the Thomas Fieldhouse. The following day, The Haven will face Edinboro at 3 p.m. Lock Haven is 1-1 when facing Pennsylvania State Athletic (PSAC) opponents this season with an overall 2-3 record. This will be Lock Haven's first game action since its 68-63 win at Seton Hill on November 19.

Three things to watch for:

Steals:
Lock Haven has 48 steals in five games so far this season, good enough for 18th nationally among men's basketball programs in Division II and trailing only East Stroudsburg, Kutztown and West Chester in the PSAC. Amir Hinton leads the way for the team with 18 steals. The Bald Eagles 9.6 steals per game will hopefully continue to help LHU as they look earn their third win in four games.

Getting it through:
Slippery Rock ranks seventh nationally among Division II teams in blocks per game with 35 so far this season, tops in the PSAC. If Lock Haven's offense, which has 377 points so far this season, wants to earn a victory, they'll have to get around the Rock's solid defensive efforts. Any offensive efforts will likely also be led by Amir Hinton, whose 23.2 pointer-per-game are second in the PSAC.

Home Court Advantage:
The Haven will finally be making its home debut on Saturday. It will be a welcomed rest for the teams as both their games this weekend are at home, as they also face Edinboro on Sunday at 3 p.m. Last season, eight of Lock Haven's 13 wins came at home.
