Men’s Basketball falls in close battle to UPJ

The LHU men’s basketball team drops a home PSAC match-up to Pitt-Johnstown.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (2-6, 1-4 PSAC) fell in a close battle to visiting University of Pitt-Johnstown (5-4, 3-2 PSAC) by a final of 76-66.
 
The Haven led after the first half by a score of 35-33. The second half saw the two teams battle back-and-forth and the long ball for Pitt-Johnstown helped to pull away late, as they shot 6-7 from behind the arc.
 
LHU had three scorers hit double digit points as Amir Hinton (Philadelphia/Abington) led the way with 23 points. He also chipped in with five steals and four assists.
 
Marques Jackson (Philadelphia/Monsignor Bonner) and Ra'eese Hunt (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) both added 13 and 14 points, respectively.
 
True freshman Matt Cerruti (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Archbishop Wood) played a solid all-around game as he scored eight points, hauled in five rebounds and recorded four steals.
 
Jihad Barnes (Philadelphia/Philadelphia Electric Charter) also played a great game as he netted four points, five rebounds and four assists.
 
The Bald Eagles will remain at Thomas Fieldhouse for their fourth home game in a row on Monday December, 18 when they are set to host Penn State Mont Alto in non-conference action. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
