Mealing notches her fifth straight double-double, LHU falls on the road at Kutztown

The LHU women’s basketball team dropped a PSAC contest at Kutzotown, 47-41.

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (7-13, 4-12 PSAC) fell on the road at Kutztown University (8-16, 5-11 PSAC) today in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play 47-41. Lysa Mealing (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) had another great game for the Bald Eagles tallying her 11th double-double on the season and her fifth in a row.
 
Mealing, led the team in points, rebounds and steals finishing with 17, 12 and five, respectively.
 
Kayla Henderson (Philadelphia/Lackawanna College) provided offense for LHU as well, chipping in with nine points and four rebounds. Henderson also added two blocks for the Bald Eagle defense.
 
Ayanda McGill-Jefferson (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) ended the game just shy of a double-double, finishing with seven points and eight boards.
 
Annie Dombrowski (Altoona, Pa./ Bishop Guilfoyle) added great defense for the Bald Eagles, helping hold Kutztown to just 47 points, their third lowest total on the season.
 
Dombrowski and Mealing both played 38 of a possible 40 minutes for LHU. 38 minutes is a new season high for Dombrowski.  
 
LHU is back in action at Shippensburg University on Wednesday, February 8 (6 p.m) for another PSAC East clash.
