WILSON, NC. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (10-2) picked up its eighth straight victory in route to beating Clarion University (3-6) in a scheduled nine inning game 7-3.
Zach Manuppelli (Pittsburgh/USC Upstate) started the game for The Haven and was in the zone as he pitched four innings striking out three batters and not allowing a hit.
Brett Morrison (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) came in and picked up where Manuppelli finished and pitched strong striking out five batters and allowing only one run in almost four innings of work.
Breton LaRose (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Sacred Heart) came in with two outs in the eighth inning and allowed only one hit on his way to securing his third save.
Nick Stotler (Pittsburgh/Coker College) and
Sam Kysor (Port Allegany, Pa./USC Upstate) each had two hits and an RBI for The Haven. Stotler hit a double and also stole a base.
Keyshawn D'Orso (Pittsburgh/Mercyhurst North East Community College),
Matt Lahn (Georgetown, Ont./Erie Community College) and
Kolby DeHaas (Coeur D'Alene, Idaho/Wenatchee Valley Community College) all chipped in with an RBI in the winning effort.
The Bald Eagles have scored 115 runs so far this season. Lahn leads the team thus far in RBI's plating 18 runs for LHU. Kysor leads the team in batting average hitting .424 for the season.
Earlier this week Lock Haven appeared for the first time this season in the Atlantic Regional poll at the No. 8 position.

LHU will open Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action at home on Friday with a doubleheader verse Mansfield with the first pitch at 1 p.m. The following day (Saturday) the Bald Eagles will travel to Mansfield for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
