A-10 play awaits; LHU at La Salle & Saint Joseph’s

Week 4 Notes: The LHU field hockey team will open conference action this week at A-10 opponents La Salle and Saint Joseph’s.

Haven hits:
  • LHU is headed back on the road for the third straight weekend.
  • This weekend Lock Haven opens A-10 play.
  • LHU is 5-1 overall.
  • LHU is 3-1 on the road.

  • LHU was picked fifth in the A-10 preseason coaches' poll.
  • Lock Haven went 2-0 last weekend after posting wins at Colgate and Siena.

  • Strong in the 2nd half: In the second half of play, LHU is outscoring the opposition, 8-3.
  • Sunday's game at Saint Joseph's marks the sixth game in a six-game road swing.
Setting the stage:
The Bald Eagles will continue to rack up the miles this week as they hit the road for the third straight weekend. It will be different this weekend however as LHU is set to open Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) action.
 
On Friday (September 15), LHU heads to La Salle for a 3 p.m. game and Sunday's (September 17) contest at Saint Joseph's is scheduled for noon.
 
Last year, LHU lost to both La Salle and Saint Joseph's, 1-0, and, 2-1, respectively.
 
Lock Haven is 12-3 all-time vs. La Salle and 8-2 all-time vs. Saint Joseph's.
 
Dominating overtime:
So far this season, Lock Haven is a perfect 2-0 in overtime. In just the second game (Aug. 28) of the 2017 season, LHU downed visiting Central Michigan 3-2 in OT. On September 8, LHU dropped host Colgate 1-0 in double-OT.

Following Sunday's (Sept. 17) A-10 matchup at Saint Joseph's the Bald Eagles will return home for a pair of home matches on Homecoming Weekend. LHU will host Virginia Commonwealth on Friday, September 22 (3 p.m.) and Massachusetts on Sunday, September 24 at 12 p.m. Both Homecoming Weekend contests are vs. A-10 opponents.
