CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's soccer team (7-7-3, 4-5-2 PSAC) used two second half goals from freshman
Steven Schankweiler (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) to lead the Bald Eagles to a 2-0 win over California (Pa.) University (3-9-4, 1-9-1 PSAC) Saturday afternoon in California.
The game wrapped up the 2018 season for LHU as they were able to win their last two games to climb back to .500 and finish the season at 7-7-3.
With the game tied at 0-0 through 60 minutes,
Shane Colegrove (Athens, Pa./Athens) played a through ball for Schankweiler that he was able to run down and put into the back of the net to give LHU a 1-0 lead.
Just four minutes later in the 65
th minute,
Reginald Holt (Pittsburgh/Penn Hills) played another ball for Schankweiler that he collected in stride and was able to finish a one-on-one with the keeper to put The Bald Eagles up 2-0 and help LHU finish the season on a high note.
Overall, Lock Haven outshot the Vulcans 19-8 and the Bald Eagles put 12 shots on goal while Cal did not register a shot on goal.
Lock Haven finishes the season at 7-7-3 and 4-5-2 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.
