LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- The Lock Haven University women's basketball team tips off the 2018-19 season this weekend against Concord (Friday, November 9
th at 2 p.m.) and Fairmont State (Saturday, November 10
th at 4 p.m.) in the annual MEC/PSAC Challenge hosted by Fairmont State University.
Before the season begins here are a few quick facts on the LHU Women's Basketball team:
-The Bald Eagles return their leading scorer from last year's team in junior guard
Rileigh Devine. Devine averaged 10.9 points per game and 2.0 made 3-pointers per game while shooting 33% from beyond the arc.
-The Haven was dominant on the glass last season as they led the PSAC in offensive rebounds with 14.9 per game. They were also second in the PSAC in total rebounds per game with 41.7.
-Also returning is stat sheet stuffing sophomore
Bink Redman. She finished the season averaging 7 points per game and a team high 5.4 rebounds per game. Redman led the team in four categories: RPG (5.4), APG (2.4), Blocks (0.7), and SPG (1.2).
-Lock Haven returns an experienced squad which lost only two seniors last season. Head coach
Jennifer Smith, entering her 12
th season in charge, will look to merge that core with an energetic and talented freshman class featuring four new players who will look to make their mark.
