WILSON, N.C. - The Lock Haven University baseball team (8-3) finished their spring break trip 2-1 after they were able to knock off California University of Pennsylvania (9-5) 20-14 in a game that featured 34 combined runs and 37 combined hits.
The Bald Eagles were able to pound out 21 hits to go with 20 runs for the second time in six years and the first time since 2012.
Leading the way for the Lock Haven offensive outburst was
Liam McArthur (Basking Ridge, N.J./Seton Hall) as he went 4-6 with three RBIs and three runs scored.
Kolby Dehaas (Coeur D'alene, Idaho/Wenatchee Valley Community College) and
Max Joseph (Marlton, N.J./Harford Community College) both were able to notch three hits apiece. Dehaas went 3-5 with two RBIs and three runs scored while Joseph went 3-5 as well with four RBIs and three runs scored.
Keyshawn D'Orso (Pittsburgh/Mercyhurst North East Community College) also had a strong game, going 2-5 with a team-high five RBIs and two runs scored.
Lock Haven will play next on Tuesday, March 20 when they travel to Johnstown to take on Pitt-Johnstown in a single nine-inning game. The first pitch of that one is scheduled to be thrown at 1 p.m.
