The calendar has turned to 2019 and the Lock Haven University women's basketball team is set to open Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East play. The Bald Eagles will open divisional play tonight (Wednesday, Jan. 2) at local-rival Bloomsburg. Tip is set for 5:30 p.m.

Lock Haven is 7-4 overall and looking to snap a three-game losing streak. LHU is coming off a 76-69 loss at home on Sunday (Dec. 30). It marked the Bald Eagles first home loss of the season. They are 2-3 on the road this season.

Both Lock Haven and Bloomsburg enter tonight's game with seven wins on the season and with identical 2-3 PSAC records. The Huskies are 7-5 overall, but also find themselves on a three-game losing skid. BU is undefeated at home this season.

The story for Lock Haven so far this season has been a balanced scoring approach from the starting five. Rileigh Devine is leading the way with 14.6 points per game and is one of three players averaging double figures scoring. Ahnera Parker is scoring 12 points per game and rookie Taylor Leidy is adding 10.1 points per game. Jalyn Shelton-Burleigh is averaging 9.6 points per game and Bink Redman is adding 9.1 points per game. Redman leads LHU with 7.1 rebounds per game, which ranks among the top-15 in the PSAC.

The next Lock Haven win will be a big one in more ways than one. It will push head coach Jennifer Smith closer to her 100th win at The Haven. The 12th year head coach entered the 2018-19 season with 88 wins at Lock Haven and she now sits on 95 wins here at LHU.

Looking ahead, LHU will host Mansfield on Saturday (Jan. 5) in PSAC East play. Mansfield is 0-9 (0-5 PSAC East) and doesn't play until Saturday's game here in The Haven. Fans will be able to track all the action live – live stats, live video & live audio -  from Saturday's home PSAC East opener at GoLHU.com.
