It's Week 8 of the NCAA Division II football season and the Lock Haven University football team is headed back on the road for Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action. The Bald Eagles will make the short trip east on Interstate-80 to take on local-rival Bloomsburg University on Saturday (October 26) at 2 p.m.
The Bald Eagles have won two of the last three meetings and will look to spoil the Huskies Homecoming party on Saturday.
Last season, Bloomsburg won 33-7 after LHU won back-to-back games in 2017 (W, 27-24) and 2016 (W, 26-18).
LHU is 1-6 overall (0-4 PSAC East), while Bloomsburg is 2-5 (1-3 PSAC East). Last week, the Huskies snapped a four-game losing skid with a 22-17 win over East Stroudsburg.

- LHU is 1-6 overall.
- LHU is 0-4 in PSAC East action.
- LHU is 0-3 on the road this season.
- Lock Haven is looking for its first PSAC East win since last season when the Bald Eagles opened PSAC East play 1-0, thanks to a win over East Stroudsburg.
- This season, the Bald Eagles are 1-3 at home. LHU opened the 2019 season with a lopsided 57-13 win over Lincoln on Week 1.
- At 181.1 yards per game, the Bald Eagles feature the No. 1 rushing offense in the PSAC.
- Standout running back Chantz Swartz is averaging just under 100 yards per game at a clip of 95.1, which ranks No. 2 in the entire PSAC. He's the No. 1 rusher in the PSAC East.
- Junior tight end Jalen Jackson (6GP/6GS, sat out Week 3), a 2018 All-American and a 2019 Preseason All-American, leads LHU with 67.7 receiving yards per game. He's ranked No. 12 in the PSAC in that category and sits as the No. 1 ranked tight end.
- Last week (Week 7, Oct. 19), LHU fell to nationally-ranked Kutztown, 35-12. The Golden Bears were ranked No. 18 at the time.
- It marked LHU's second nationally-ranked opponent of the season. Lock Haven played at IUP (nationally-ranked) in Week 3.
- Two weeks ago, in Week 6 action vs. Millersville, wide receiver Christan Drayton III had a breakout game. His carer-high 183 receiving yards marked the most by a Bald Eagle in a single game since the 2016 season. Quarterback Kyle Knight threw for 293 yards, which was just shy of his career-high.
- Defensive Back Kahari Whitfield and Linebacker Alex Welch lead LHU with 47 and 43, respectively.
- DB Levi Engle has three of LHU's sven interceptions.
- Engle is ranked No. 3 in the PSAC in passes defended with nine (3 INTs, 6 breakups). He's ranked tied for second in the league in total interceptions with three.
- LHU head coach Dave Taynor enters his fifth season at LHU and 12th overall as a collegiate head coach. At LHU he's 11-40 (9-22 PSAC East). Overall he's 48-80.
