Total team effort carries Bald Eagles to big road win // Recap
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team is set for the final weekend of the 2019 regular season and will play a pair of games on the road.
LHU is 9-7 overall, 5-2 in Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) action and riding a two-game win streak.
The Bald Eagles will open the weekend on Friday, November 1 at Saint Francis in the final conference game of the regular season. The Atlantic 10 game is set for a 3 p.m. start. Saint Francis is 4-13 (1-5 A-10).
Lock Haven will officially cap the regular season on Sunday, November 3 at Rider (12 p.m.). Rider is 11-5 and plays Sacred Heart on Friday.

A-10 Standings:
As of today
(Tuesday, October 29), LHU is listed at No. 2 in the Atlantic 10 standings with a 5-2 record. Saint Joseph's is the clear No. 1, thanks to a perfect 7-0 conference record. Lock Haven, Richmond and Massachusetts all have 5-2 records. The Bald Eagles beat Richmond, but fell to UMass. Richmond has a win over UMass. Virginia Commonwealth is currently in the No. 5 spot with a 5-3 record. VCU and UMass play this weekend. With that being said, Lock Haven has positioned itself well as it looks to secure a playoff spot. The final standings and championship bracket will be determined following the conclusion of conference play on Sunday, November 3.

News, notes & storylines heading into the weekend:
- LHU is 9-7 overall

- The Bald Eagles have won two straight games and are winners of five of their last six outings.
- The Bald Eagles went 6-4 at home during the 2019 regular season.
- LHU is 3-3 on the road and has two conference wins on the road.
- The rookie duo of Jazmin Palma and Amy Stevens lead Lock Haven on the offensive side of things. Palma and Stevens both have five goals which leads the team. Overall, Palma and Stevens have 15 and 12 points, respectively. Palma's 15 points is ranked No. 10 in the A-10.
- The defensive effort can't be overlooked, as the Bald Eagles have been outstanding. On the season, LHU has six shutouts, which leads the A-10 and ranks No. 8 in all of NCAA Division I field hockey.
- Goalkeeper Joaquina Orlandini has been brilliant for the Bald Eagles. She is 8-7 (15 starts, 15 games played, sat out vs. Lehigh) and has played 950-plus minutes
- Orlandini has six shutouts, a 1.26 goals-against-average and a .701 save-percentage.
- Orlandini ranks No. 1 in the A-10 in shutouts with six, she leads the A-10 in goals-against-average 1.26 and is ranked No. 6 in the league in save-percentage, .701. Her 1.26 GAA is 14th best in DI.
- To date (9 wins this season), Hall of Fame head coach Pat Rudy now has 611 career coaching victories.
