LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven men's basketball team (4-3, 1-2 PSAC) prepares to host two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division foes on Friday (Dec. 20) versus Clarion and Saturday (Dec. 21) against Pitt-Johnstown.
WEEKLY GAME NOTES:
First on Friday, the Clarion Golden Eagles come to Thomas Fieldhouse for a 3:00 p.m. tipoff. Clarion is currently 1-7 overall with a 0-3 record in the PSAC. The Bald Eagles won the last meeting between the two on December 1, 2018 by a score of 88-65. Christian Kelly dropped a career high 28 points and led the Haven to a dominant victory. Clarion are paced by the backcourt duo of Kaison Branch and Stevan Rodriguez who average 13.3 and 13.1 points per game, respectively.
Saturday's matchup will feature an 8-2 Pitt-Johnstown coming to town for another 3:00 p.m. start. The Mountain Cats are 2-1 in the PSAC and are ranked eighth in the Atlantic Region. The last time these two met in 2017, UPJ won by a 76-66 margin. This season the Mountain Cats are led by sophomore forward John Paul Kromka who leads the team in points per game (17.4) and in rebounds per game (7.5).
Notes:
The Bald Eagles will look to their tandem of Christian Kelly and Matt Cerruti to continue their hot shooting. Kelly leads the way averaging 19.3 points per game, with Cerruti right behind at 18.4 points per game.
LHU has amassed 302 total rebounds on the season and currently leads the PSAC in defensive rebounds per game. Two Bald Eagles rank among the PSAC top five in rebounding. Kelly paces the team grabbing 9 boards per game, which is third best in the PSAC, and Nasir Campbell hauls in 8.9 per game and places fifth among conference leaders.
