LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The LHU men's basketball team (4-5, 1-4 PSAC) dropped an exciting overtime matchup to visiting Pitt-Johnstown (10-2, 4-1 PSAC), 96-92, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) showdown on Saturday afternoon.
The Bald Eagles jumped out on the Mountain Cats and built up a 44-26 halftime lead thanks to a sharp 51.5 percent shooting from the field. LHU knocked down seven first half three pointers and built up a lead as large as 22 points.

Pitt-Johnstown refused to go away in the second half and slowly chipped away at the Haven advantage and forced the game into overtime tied at 80-80. The Mountain Cats rode the momentum in overtime and shot a perfect 5-5 from the field to pull away for the 96-92 victory.

Christian Kelly (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) and
Matt Cerruti (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Archbishop Wood) were on fire for the Bald Eagles and combined for 56 points. Kelly knocked down 28 points including five three pointers and Cerruti poured in 27 points on 9-17 from the field.

All five starters for Lock Haven finished the game in double figures as
Jesse McPherson (Philadelphia/Archbishop Carrol) and
Trevor Lecuona (Baltimore, Md./ Oakdale) each chipped in 11 points.
Nasir Campbell (Philadelphia/ Simon Gratz) rounded out the scoring with 10 points and also grabbed 11 rebounds for his third double-double of the season.

Defensively, Kelly led the team recording four blocks while Cerruti grabbed five steals. Cerruti also led the team in assists notching six.

The Bald Eagles return from their holiday break on January 3 when they travel to Indiana (Pa.). That game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
