CLERMONT, Fl. – The Lock Haven University softball team (4-6) competed in Day two of the PFX Tournament. The team opened the day with an 11-0 loss to No. 22 Augustana (13-4) before defeating Bridgeport (8-2), 3-1 Tuesday morning at Legends Way Ballpark in Clermont, Fl.
Game 1: L, 11-0
The Bald Eagles fell in the first game of day two, 11-0 to No. 22 Augustana (SD).
Rachel Gricoski (Frackville, Pa./North Schuylhill) led the way offensively, notching her first double of the season in the loss.
Casey Carpenter (Moscow, Pa./North Pocono) added a single at the plate and drew a walk in the game.
Freshman
Madalyn Dydynski (Nichols, N.Y./Tioga Central) pitched well in her LHU debut, give up three hits over two innings while recording a strikeout.
Game 2: W, 3-1
Lock Haven got off to a fast start in this one, grabbing a quick 1-0 lead when
Becca Caputo (Williamsport, Pa./Jersey Shore) singled to center field and scored
Faith Ceely (Troy, Pa./Troy) in the top of the first inning.
In the third inning, LHU was able to push the lead to 2-0 when
Bree Hilty (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) drew a bases loaded walk after her 12-pitch at bat.
Bridgeport cut the lead to 2-1 in the bottom of the third, but the Bald Eagles responded when Caputo scored Ceely again in the fourth to push The Haven ahead 3-1 as Lock Haven outlasted Bridgeport for the win.
Ceely and Caputo led the way offensively for LHU. Ceely finished 2-4 at the plate with two runs scored while Caputo finished with two RBI's.
Hilty finished with a single and an RBI while Gricoski added a single of her own to go with two walks.
Bekah Slattery (Douglasville, Pa./Daniel Boone) was dominant on the mound, throwing a complete game five-hitter while allowing one run and striking out nine.

Lock Haven will return to the field early tomorrow for Day three at the PFX tournament. The day will begin at 9:00 AM when the team takes on Fairmont State before facing Hillsdale to finish up the day at 11:15 AM.
