KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (12-14, 8-12 PSAC) fell to Kutztown University (15-13, 9-11 PSAC) 98-89 in the finale of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) regular season.
The Bald Eagles now prepare for the first round of the PSAC playoffs on Monday, March 4. Lock Haven will travel to Shippensburg University for a 7:00 pm tip off. The Bald Eagles split the season series with Shippensburg during the regular season as both teams defended their home court. Lock Haven will be returning to the PSAC playoffs for the first time since the 2016-17 season.
Kutztown held a slight 44-37 lead at halftime.
Matt Cerruti (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Archbishop Wood) led the Bald Eagles with 14 points at the half and finished with 28 for the game.
Offensively Lock Haven saw 4 players score in double figures including Cerruti's 28. The Bald Eagles were led by
Christian Kelly (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) who finished with 32.
Jihad Barnes (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia Electric Charter) added 12 and
Jesse McPherson (Philadelphia/Archbishop Wood) finished with 11.
Kelly led the Bald Eagles in the battle on the glass finishing with a team high 9 rebounds. Cerruti also added 6 rebounds.
