Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Lacrosse edged out by Millersville

The LHU lacrosse team soared in the second half, but the rally fell short in a 12-9 PSAC-loss to visiting Millersville.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University lacrosse team (3-5, 1-2 PSAC) rallied for five second-half goals, but the late surge was not enough as visiting Millersville University (5-3, 3-1 PSAC) held on for a 12-9 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) victory this afternoon.

With the win, Millersville improved to 5-3 (3-1). The loss moved the Bald Eagles to 3-5 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Leading the way for Lock Haven was goalkeeper Lauren Girardi (Watertown, N.Y./Watertown). Her spectacular play kept LHU in the game and she finished with 12 saves. Defender Kathryn Schutta (Frenchtown, N.J./Delaware Valley) was credited with two caused turnovers as she led a defensive unit that stepped up in the second half.

Loren Librizzi (Miller Place, N.Y./Miller Place), Braxtin Reddinger (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) and Zoe Waddell (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville) all scored two goals apiece.

Librizzi was one of three players who finished with two assists. Caitlin Morrow (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) and Braxtin Reddinger (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) both had two assists as well.

Millersville led 9-4 at halftime after the Marauders controlled the game early.

Lock Haven pushed hard in the second, but couldn't overcome that early deficit.

Erin Fagan and Grace Cobaugh each recorded hat tricks for the visitors.

LHU is set to travel to Seton Hill Saturday, March 30 (1 p.m.).
