LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (2-4) travels to Wilson, North Carolina from March 8-10. They kick off the weekend against Alderson Broaddus University in a nine-inning game on Friday at 9 a.m. (Mar. 8) followed by a double-header against West Virginia State University beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday (Mar. 9). On Sunday (Mar. 10), the Bald Eagles wrap up the weekend with a nine-inning game against Saint Anselm at 10:30 a.m.

The Bald Eagles opened up the 2019 season in Columbia, Md. where they faced Clarion and Lake Erie College in double-headers on February 22 & 23. Following that trip was the PSAC-MEC Crossover in Glennville, WV where they split their two games, beating West Liberty 10-9 and falling to Fairmont State 7-3.

McArthur's hot start: 2018 first team All-PSAC outfielder
Liam McArthur has been red hot in the early goings for LHU. McArthur is currently batting .455 with an on-base percentage of .520. In 22 at-bats, he has 10 hits and drawn three walks and has driven in five RBI's. McArthur has struck out only one time and is 3-3 on stolen bases.

Counting K's: The Bald Eagle pitchers have been all over opposing batters in the opening gmaes striking out 55 batters in just 43 innings of work. Three pitchers have already totaled 12 or more strikeouts:
Scott Leitholf leads the team with 14 K's in 11 innings pitched,
Avery Eddy has racked up 12 strikeouts in his 8 innings pitched and Jessie Slinger, who led the team in strikeouts last season, has recorded 12 strikeouts in his 11 innings.

Hitting notes: Other notable batting performances for the Bald Eagles include
Joe Zgleszewski who is second on the team with a .313 batting average and a .389 on-base percentage.
Jimmy Webb is tied for the team lead with RBI's having driven in five including a grand slam in the win against West Liberty.
