INDIANA, Pa. – The Lock Haven University lacrosse team (3-11, 1-8 PSAC) fell to No. 25 IUP (8-5, 6-3 PSAC), 19-10, this afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
Today's conference game was the first of two games this week vs. top-25 opponents. LHU will host nationally-ranked West Chester Saturday at Charlotte Smith Field.
Today,
Lauren Girardi (Watertown, N.Y./Watertown) made 15 saves for the Bald Eagles. She now has 174 saves on the season and moved into the No. 2 spot all-time for a single-season. Her solid play and big-save effort kept Lock Haven in the game today.
LHU trailed the host Crimson Hawks, 10-6 at halftime.
Caitlin Morrow (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa),
Braxtin Reddinger (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford),
Loren Librizzi (Miller Place, N.Y./Miller Place) and
Raleigh Bateman (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) led the Bald Eagles' offensive unit.
Morrow netted three goals, while the trio of Bateman, Reddinger and Librizzi cominbed for six goals as each player scored a pair.
Reddinger recorded 11 draw controls and added an assist.
The Bald Eagles will host No. 7 West Chester on Saturday, April 20 at 1 p.m. West Chester played at Bloomsburg this afternoon. Since 2011, Lock Haven is 7-6 vs. West Chester in a series that has been nothing short of thrilling. For LHU, five of those seven wins have come at home vs. rival West Chester.
