PSAC Championship Central
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University softball team is set for its fourth straight berth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament. The Bald Eagles will open the 2019 Championships Wednesday, May 1 against Shippensburg at 3 p.m.
LHU will enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed from the Central Division after finishing the season 13-6-1 in conference play and 27-16-1 overall. Lock Haven wrapped up the regular season on Monday against Mansfield.
Lock Haven enters the PSAC tournament having won 14 out of their last 19 games, including a current 7-game unbeaten streak.
The winner of Lock Haven's first game against Shippensburg will move on to the next round where they will take on the winner of Gannon and Mansfield. The loser will fall to the consolation bracket.

Regular season:
During the regular season, LHU went 27-16-1 overall, including a 13-6-1 record in the PSAC Central division. The Bald Eagles were a force both on the road and at home this season. LHU went 10-4 at Lawrence Field and went 9-4-1 on the road.
Slattery continues to dominate:
Preseason All-American
Bekah Slattery leads the Bald Eagles from the circle with a record-breaking season. She sits at 17-8 on the season and became one of eight pitchers in PSAC history to eclipse the 700 strikeouts mark. Currently, Slattery sits at 772 K's before postseason play. She leads the PSAC in ERA (1.35), opponents' batting average (.171), strikeouts (238). She is also tied for first in wins (17) and saves (5). Her number continue to impress on the national stage as well. Currently, Slattery sits top 10 in the nation in saves, strikeouts, strikeout/walk ratio, strikeouts/seven innings and hits allowed/seven innings. She is also top 20 in the country in ERA and in shutouts.
Gricoski leads LHU offense:
Rachel Gricoski heads into the postseason coming off a bigtime series in the season finale against Mansfield. In the series, she went 5-7 at the plate with two home runs and five RBI's as Lock Haven clinched the PSAC Central's 2-seed in the PSAC tournament. For the season, Gricoski leads the team offensively, hitting .327 with four doubles, eight home runs and 27 RBI's.
Casey Carpenter (.319),
Amanda Criss (.307) and
Faith Ceely (.306) all hit over .300 for the team to power LHU. Carpenter leads the team with 10 home runs this season, good for second in the PSAC.
Becca Caputo leads the team in RBI's with 34, good for 11
th in the conference.
PSAC Athlete of the Week Awards:
The Bald Eagles have won six PSAC weekly awards this year. Slattery has won PSAC Pitcher of the Week four times and Athlete of the Week once. Slattery pulled a rare sweep of both awards on April 22.
Kayla Gee also brought home Pitcher of the Week honors once for the Bald Eagles.
