LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – McCartney Register (Mill Hall, Pa./Central Mountain) picked up a win in singles play and was part of a winning doubles-duo, as the she the way for the Lock Haven University tennis team (0-2) on Homecoming Saturday. Despite Register's brilliant afternoon on the LHU tennis courts and singles' wins from
Victoria Bensinger (Northampton, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) and
Kayla Mushala (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg), the Bald Eagles fell to visiting Penn College (1-2), 5-4.
Bensinger posted a win at No. 4 singles, Register won at No. 5 singles and Mushala posted a victory in No. 6 singles play.
At No. 3 doubles, Register and Mushala downed Penn College's duo of Deidre Satterly and Marcie Harman, 8-5.

John Machak was very pleased with effort from everyone in the lineup today. He credited Bensinger's ability to battle back after dropping the opening set and noted the strong performance of Register and Mushala.
After dropping the opening set to Cassie Shook (2-6), Bensinger won 6-1 and 6-0.
Register took down Satterly 6-3 and 6-1 in singles play and Mushal won 5-7, 6-4 and took the tiebreaker, 10-7.
The LHU women's tennis team will return to action on Wednesday, October 2 at 4 p.m. when the Bald Eagles travel to Misericordia. Following the mid-week match, LHU will next be in action on October 5 – 7 (Sat. – Mon.) at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Singles and Doubles Fall Championships.
