Men’s Basketball set for Saturday bout with Shepherd

The LHU Men’s Basketball team travels to West Virginia on Saturday (Jan. 11) for a matchup with Shepherd University.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (5-7, 2-6 PSAC) will travel to face Shepherd University (6-8, 2-6 PSAC) on Saturday, January 11 for a 3:00 p.m. tipoff.

WEEKLY GAME NOTES:
 
The Bald Eagles enter Saturday's matchup fresh off a dominant, 79-59, win over visiting Mansfield on Wednesday night. Matt Cerruti and Christian Kelly combined for 43 total points to pace the Bald Eagles to a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) win.
 
The Rams were also in action on Wednesday as they fell to Cal. U, 71-64. Despite receiving 17 point performances from both Dan McClain-Corley and Thomas Lang, Shepherd was unable to pick up a conference road win over the Vulcans.
 
Shepherd is paced by the senior guard Lang who averages a team best and conference sixth best 19.3 points per game. Sophomore guard Jon Preston leads the Rams hauling in 5.6 rebounds per game.
 
Notes:
 
Kelly and Cerruti continue to lead the Bald Eagles in scoring and rank among the conference leaders. Kelly sits at fourth in the PSAC averaging 19.7 points per game, while Cerruti ranks 12th at 17.6 points per game.
 
On the glass, the Bald Eagles grab 40.1 rebounds per game led by Kelly who grabs 8.5 per game, which is fourth best in the PSAC. Nasir Campbell ranks just below at fifth in the PSAC with 8.3 rebounds per game
 
Trevor Lecuona continues to dictate the Haven offense and leads the team with 58 assists. His assist to turnover ratio of 2.8 is the best in the PSAC.

The Bald Eagles host West Chester on Wednesday, January 15. That game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m.
