RECAP:
  • Lock Haven fell in two close matchups to Clarion (65-69) and Pitt-Johnstown (92-96, OT) on Dec. 20 and 21 after defeating Seton Hill 86-80 the previous weekend.
  • Christian Kelly (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) and Matt Cerruti (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Archbishop Wood) combined for 56 points in the Bald Eagles overtime loss to the Mountain Cats. Kelly knocked down 28 points, including five three pointers, and Cerruti poured on 27 points, putting him just 10 points away from the monumental 1,000-point milestone.
  • Junior Jesse McPherson (Philadelphia/Archbishop Carrol) chipped in 25 points over the two games as well as 11 rebounds and four assists.
  • A 10 point and 11 rebound performance against Pitt-Johnstown gave Nasir Campbell (Philadelphia / Simon Gratz) his third double-double of the season.

THE SERIES:
  • Last season, Lock Haven was edged out by then-ranked No. 6 IUP 83 – 90 at the Kovalchick Convention & Athletic Complex in Indiana on Nov. 18.
  • The Bald Eagles will be looking for their first win over the Crimson Hawks in nearly 10 years, as IUP holds a 10-0 advantage over Lock Haven dating back to the 2011 season.

SCOUTING IUP:
  • IUP has had an impressive season so far, racking up a 9-1 overall record and a 4-1 record in PSAC play. The Crimson Hawks are a perfect 6-0 on their home court.
  • The No. 9 Crimson Hawks enter tomorrow's game coming off of their first loss of the season, dropping a PSAC matchup with Shippensburg 66 – 69 on Dec. 21. IUP led with just over five minutes left, but a 12-2 run from the Raiders in the final minutes of the game would help propel Shippensburg past the Crimson Hawks.
  • Armoni Foster led IUP in scoring over the last weekend of action, recording 22 points against Shepherd for his fourth 20-point game this season. Foster leads the Crimson Hawks in points with 176, and is tied for 13th in the PSAC for points per game with a mark of 17.6.

UP NEXT: The Bald Eagles return to action on Monday, Jan. 6 when they travel to Kutztown to face PSAC East rival Kutztown in a 7:30 p.m. matchup.
