Women’s Basketball heads to East Stroudsburg for mid-week matchup

The LHU Women’s Basketball team is set to face the East Stroudsburg Warriors this Wednesday evening

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (10-8, 7-6 PSAC East) hits the road to face East Stroudsburg in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East matchup this Wednesday, Jan. 29, with tip-off set for 6 p.m.
 
THE SERIES:
  • The Bald Eagles met the Warriors three times last season, splitting the regular season series before Lock Haven downed ESU 72-65 in the first round of the PSAC Tournament to advance to the PSAC Quarter Finals.
  • LHU has won two consecutive games against the Warriors, and are 3-12 against East Stroudsburg dating back to the 2011-12 season.

 NEED TO KNOW:
  • Lock Haven was defeated by the Shippensburg Raiders last weekend 60-71 at Thomas Fieldhouse in a PSAC East matchup.
  • East Stroudsburg, who sits second in the PSAC East, fell to Gannon last Saturday (Jan. 25) on the road as the Golden Knights ended the Warriors three game win streak.
  • Marena Lonardi (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) and Taylor Leidy (Alexandria, Pa./Juniata Valley) led the Bald Eagles against the Raiders, as Lonardi lit up the scoreboard for a season-high 21 points and Leidy recorded a season-high 17 points along with season-highs in steals (3), field goals (6), and free throws (5).
  • Jaynelle Robinson (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport (Monroe CC)) was active on the glass against Shippensburg, recording a game-high 11 rebounds, eight of which were defensive. Ahnera Parker (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCasky) chipped in 14 points of her own while adding a season-high four steals.
 
UP NEXT: The Bald Eagles return home this weekend when they host Shepherd in another PSAC East matchup on Saturday, Feb. 1 at Thomas Fieldhouse. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
