LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (9-10, 5-9 PSAC East) cruised past Shepherd University (9-12, 5-10 PSAC East), 83-66, on Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division action.
Lock Haven took control early in the game and only trailed 6-5 in the opening minutes. The Bald Eagles then took charge and pulled away for a 40-29 halftime lead.
The Haven led the entire second half and held a lead as large as 20 points late in the game before cruising home for the 83-66 win.
Four Bald Eagles posted double figures in scoring, led by
Christian Kelly (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) who poured in 24 points on 10-15 from the floor. Kelly continued his strong effort defensively with two more blocks. Kelly currently sits third in the PSAC with 32 on the season.
Jesse McPherson (Philadelphia/Archbishop Carrol) asserted himself in the paint in the second half, scoring 10 of his 15 points as the Bald Eagles stretched out their lead.
Matt Cerruti (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Archbishop Wood) and
Nasir Campbell (Philadelphia/ Simon Gratz) rounded out the scoring chipping in 13 and 10 points, respectively. The duo was a force on the glass with Campbell hauling in nine and Cerruti grabbing seven.
Trevor Lecuona (Baltimore, Md./ Oakdale) had his fingerprints all over the game scoring eight points and grabbing seven rebounds. The senior guard also handed out a team high four assists.

The Bald Eagles travel to Mansfield for their next outing on Wednesday, February 5. That game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
