LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (12-12, 9-10 PSAC East) travels to West Chester to face the Golden Rams (8-16, 6-13 PSAC East) this Saturday, February 22nd in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East matchup. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m.
THE SERIES:
- The Bald Eagles fell to West Chester 69-76 earlier this season at Thomas Fieldhouse. Despite leading 55-51 at the end of the third quarter, Lock Haven was unable to suppress the Golden Rams offense as they surged ahead in the fourth to claim the comeback win. LHU's last win against West Chester came on Feb. 18, 2017, a 62-57 victory at home.
NEED TO KNOW:
- West Chester has lost four games in a row, most recently dropping a 54-69 decision to the Kutztown Golden Bears on the road. The Golden Rams currently sit seventh in the PSAC East, just outside of the playoff picture.
- The Bald Eagles currently sit fifth in the PSAC East after downing the Bloomsburg Huskies 68-53 this past Wednesday evening at Thomas Fieldhouse. Lock Haven took an early lead on the Huskies, and never looked back, soaring to a 68-53 victory.
- Bink Redman (York, Pa./William Penn) led the Bald Eagles offense, tying a career-high 19 points while adding nine rebounds and two steals. Redman's nine field goals were also a career best for the junior guard. Rileigh Devine (Etters, Pa./Red Land) added 15 points while going 5-9 from the field and 3-6 from outside the arc.
- Jaynelle Robinson (Williamsport, Pa. /Williamsport (Monroe CC)) was all over the court, recording 13 points and 13 rebounds to mark her sixth double-double this season. Robinson, who has sat atop the PSAC in rebounds all season long, now has 236 rebounds (9.8/game) this season.
- Nadia Romanchock (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) chipped in eight points and tied a career-high eight rebounds.
UP NEXT: The Bald Eagles return to Thomas Fieldhouse for their last regular season home game of the 2019-20 season next Wednesday, taking on the East Stroudsburg Warriors at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday's game will serve as the team's senior night, with a special presentation taking place before the game to honor this year's seniors.
