LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team is set for a road trip to North Carolina to kick off the 2020 season.

The Haven will open the season with three games against UNC Pembroke beginning on Friday, February 7 at 3:00 p.m. Saturday's game begins at 1:00 p.m., and rounding out the series, Sunday's game begins at 12:00 p.m.

The Bald Eagles open the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) season on March 13-14 with a three-game weekend series versus Millersville. The Bald Eagles host Millersville for a nine inning game on Friday, followed by a doubleheader in Millersville on Saturday.

This season's PSAC baseball season sees a change in formatting of conference doubleheaders. Each conference doubleheader will begin with a seven inning game followed by a nine inning matchup.

The 2019 Season: The Haven finished 2019 at 19-25-1 with a conference mark of 12-16-0. Last season was highlighted by a stretch from April 6-18 when Lock Haven went on a tear winning 10Â out of their 11 games in that stretch. Among the wins was a four game sweep over conference rival Mansfield.

Offensive Explosion: The Bald Eagles exploded for a season-high 18 runs twice last season. Just four days apart on April 9 and 13, The Haven notched wins over Kutztown and Indiana (Pa.) scoring 36 total runs and racking up 34 hits.

Preseason Ranking: The Lock Haven University baseball team was ranked seventh in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Division in the preseason coaches' poll released on Tuesday, January 28.

Pitching Notes: Notable returner
Scott Leitholf led the Bald Eagles in strikeouts recording 63 on the season.
Avery Eddy returns as the second highest in both innings pitched and strikeouts with 38.0 innings and 30 strikeouts.

Notable Returners: Senior catcher
Isaac Porter returns behind the plate for the Bald Eagles. Porter boasts the highest returning RBI's (25) and homeruns (4). Second among returners in RBI's is
Joe Zgleszewski who drove in 17 last season.
Reagan Lawlor also returns with 14 RBI's and a 95.6 fielding percentage.
