LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (3-3) will head to Wilson, N.C. for their 2020 spring break trip, taking on California (Pa.), Mercyhurst, Ohio Dominican, and Shepherd over the course of the weekend.
The Bald Eagles kick off the weekend with a scheduled doubleheader against California (Pa.) tonight, with first pitch of game one set for 5:00 p.m. with game two set to start 20 minutes after the end of the first. Game one will be a shortened seven inning game.
LHU takes the field again on Saturday for a pair of matchups, taking on the Mercyhurst Lakers at 11:00 a.m. before facing the Ohio Dominican Panthers at 2:00 p.m. The Haven will wrap up their trip on Sunday with a tilt against the Shepherd Rams at 11:00 a.m.
Joey Lowen (Pittsburgh/Mount Lebanon) leads the Bald Eagles with a .333 batting average, notching two runs, seven hits, and an RBI across six starts this season.
Jake Mastillo (Moscow, Pa./North Pocono) and
Isaac Porter (Beech Creek, Pa./Central Mountain) have each added seven hits as well, with four of Porter's coming as doubles. Porter has also shown his patience at the plate this season, recording a team-high five walks.
On the mound,
Scott Leitholf (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York) has earned a 2-0 record and a 2.45 ERA across two starts this season, allowing just three runs and 10 hits while walking five and striking out seven.
Colby Hiddemen (Honey Brook, Pa./Twin Valley) and
Avery Eddy (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) lead the Bald Eagles with 10 strikeouts a piece.
Justin Lichtenwalner (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) has been a force both on the mound and at the plate for the Bald Eagles this season. Lichtenwalner, who has earned a 3.86 ERA and two saves through three games, has allowed six hits and three runs while walking one and striking out five. At the plate, Lichtenwalner has smacked six hits, three of which have been doubles, and has marked three RBIs along with three runs of his own.
