MERION STATION, Pa. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (3-7, 1-2 A-10) opened a two-game weekend road swing this afternoon (Friday) at No. 11 Saint Joseph's University (10-3, 4-0 A-10) and the hosts took home a 6-0 victory.
The Hawks scored three times in each half on the way to the Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) win.
Zhao Rodrigo (Valencia, Spain/Colegio San Bartoleme) led LHU with two shots, both of which required saves from Saint Joseph's goalkeeper Robin Bleekemolen. On the other side, Lock Haven goalkeeper
Joaquina Orlandini (Concordia, Argentina/San Antonio School) made 13 saves.
The 13-save effort marks the most saves in a single-game for a Lock Haven goalkeeper since 2011 when Lindsay Staufenberg made 14 stops vs. Penn State.
Looking ahead:
The Bald Eagles will remain in the Philadelphia area as they head to La Salle University for a Sunday (Oct. 10) Atlantic 10 match (12 p.m.). Sunday's game at La Salle is LHU's final scheduled road game of the 2021 regular season. LHU will close the regular season with a four-game homestand starting on October 15 vs. Richmond (A-10).
